Impact of the Project on the External Economic Environment

International Medical Center will significantly affect the external economic environment in different aspects:

• The Saudi Arabian government has a goal to provide high quality and fair medical care regardless of gender, race, disability, or religion, and then attracting patients from the entire Middle East, and the diversity of its economy. Trying to focus on health services rather than total reliance on oil, the International Medical Center will support the government to achieve its objectives, and will make the relationship stronger. Economically, the International Medical Center, as the leader of the hospitals and a significant factor to attract international patients, would enhance the economy of Saudi Arabia and Jeddah, and also help the government to diversify the economy toward health services

• IMC has a Patient Education Center, with the goal of increased health education of society. This center knows everything about the health of the individual and community health, and provides community education to avoid whenever possible various illnesses, and this helps in Saudi Arabia to build a strong, bright present and look forward to a better future

• The International Medical Center uses advanced medical technology; through this the technology and ideas of technology will be improved, particularly in the technology of health care in the Kingdom. Environmentally, using architectural design to promote the healing process and care for mind, soul, and body will encourage other hospitals to use such a system, which will be on behalf of the environment. Providing healing through architectural design and safety of hospitals will motivate the Saudi government to study the situation of government hospitals. A number of governments, especially in the Middle East, do not take into account treatment by architectural design

• The International Medical Center provides advanced medical technology (unique in the Middle East) and high quality services to middle class people and above, at a level that they are looking for, which will make them happy and attract other patients

• The International Medical Center will affect the increasing competition in the region and in the Middle East. On the other hand, it will provide an opportunity to competitors when patients come for treatment or Muslims come from the entire world to do hajj and they do not have the ability to be treating at the International Medical Center. As a result, they will look to other hospitals

• The International Medical Center as a leader will support the health sector and make many improvements. Moreover, they will engage in field projects for the purpose of the share in general, and the impact on hospitals, focusing on the needs of patients

• One negative impact is the increase in medical waste in Jeddah because the hospital burns or buries medical waste and that affects the environment in terms of air pollution or groundwater contamination
