Illustrates term refractive index in optical fibres?

Refractive Index:

Optical fibres consist of two layers which are core and cladding with various refractive indices.

The variation of the refractive index into the core finds the nature of the fibre. An optical fibre is categorized as per the variation of the core as:

a. Step index fibre

b. Graded index fibre
