Q. Illustrate working of Direct-coupled Amplifiers?
Direct-coupled Amplifiers : The following figure shows a direct-coupled amplifier consisting of two stages. A dc voltage is applied directly to the grid of the first stage. The plate output of this first stage is then connected directly to the grid of the second stage. The bias and plate supply voltage (B+) for each succeeding stage must be greater than that of the preceding one. Direct-coupled amplifiers are used in vacuum tube voltmeters and electronic voltage regulators where small dc voltage changes must be amplified.
