Illustrate the principles of operation of centralized, Electrical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Illustrate the principles of operation of centralized SPC and distributed SPC and compare their performance.

Ans:

In centralized control, all control equipment is replaced by a single processor which should be quite powerful. It should be capable of processing 10 to 100 calls per second, depending on load on the system and simultaneously performing many other ancillary tasks. A typical control configuration of an ESS using centralized SPC is displayed in Figure. A centralized SPC configuration may use more than one processor for redundancy purposes there are two approaches to organizing stored program control:

Centralized: In this control, all control equipment is replaced by a single processor which should be quite powerful.

Distributed:In this control, control functions are shared by many processors within exchange itself.
