Q. Illustrate Basic COCOMO model?

Basic COCOMO model:- It provides an order of magnitude of cost. This model utilizes estimated size of software project and the type of software being developed. The estimation differs for various types of projects and these various kinds are:-

  • Organic-mode project:- These project comprise relatively small teams working in a familiar environment developing a well understood application the feature of such project are-

1) The communication overheads are low.

2) The team members recognize what they can achieve.

3) This project is greatly common in nature.

  • Semi-detached model: A project consists of diverse project team of experienced and fresh engineers. The team has incomplete experience of related system development and some of them are unfamiliar with output and also some aspects of system being developed.
  • Embedded model: - There will be extremely strong coupled hardware and software regulations and operational procedures. Validation costs are extremely high. For example System program and development of OCR for English.
