Idea Screening

In the new-product development process, the second step is idea screening which involves screening new manufacture ideas to spot good ideas and discard poor ones as soon as possible. Because product-development costs increase dramatically in afterward stages, companies have to proceed just with product ideas that will turn into gainful products. One way to keep information organized is to keep executives write up fresh-product ideas on a standard form that may be reviewed by a new-product committee. A well-designed system for evaluating and rating new-product ideas avoids problems at latter stages.
