I have completed the "how power is sustained and challenged" part already. I just need ideas on how power is lost. Since The Crucible references the McCarthy anti-Communist era and the Salem Witch Trials, I would like to know how the authorities lost their power during those events. This does not have to be limited to the McCarthy era or the Witch Trials. Any historical event can be used. I was wondering about discussing how the Nazis lost their power, or how during the French Revolution, power was lost. I'm really confused. I need one main idea which connects many historical events on how the authority loses its power.
