The Civil War resulted in a massive loss of American lives and fractured families; it divided the nation in two.At its beginning, however, many did not consider that it would be a major war. Consider the perceptions that both sides had at the beginning of the war. Your paper should address the following aspects in answering this question:
a) How did this perception change as the war dragged on?
b) How did each side respond to the lengthening conflict strategy-wise?
c) Which side was better prepared for a long conflict? Why?
