How Buffer Solution Can Be Prepared?
A buffer solution can be prepared to have a desired value of pH by controlling the amount of acid and its salt in case of acidic buffer and the amount of base and its salt in case of basic buffer. What do we mean by an acidic and basic buffer? An acidic buffer solution is just one that has a pH less than 7. Acidic buffer solutions are generally made from a weak acid and one of its salts - frequently a sodium salt. An alkaline buffer solution, alternatevely, has a pH greater than 7. Alkaline buffer solutions are generally made from a weak base and one of its salts.
