Give the properties of PVC.
PVC- It is acquired from polymerisation of hydrogen chloride and acetylene in the presence of a catalyst as peroxides at about 500C.
Properties:
1. PVC is a white powder.
2. Its resin is hard, very little flexible and insoluble in many solvents.
3. Properties as porosity, mechanical strength and flexibility, electrical properties and moisture absorption can be changed by adding materials or fillers.
4. It has good mechanical and electrical properties.
5. PVC resists flame, sunlight and most solvents.
6. PVC is non-hygroscopic.
