Q. Give the general formula of Organic Acids?

Ans.

Organic acids have the general formula RCOOH. The R- is an alkyl group or hydrogen.

The functional group is -COOH and is called the carboxyl group.

The simplest organic acid is formic acid (HCOOH) with only one carbon:
