Q. Give the drawbacks of Sommerfeld’s atom model?

Drawbacks of Sommerfeld's atom model:

(i) It couldn't explain the distribution and arrangement of electrons in atoms.

(ii) Sommerfeld's model was incapable to explain the spectra of alkali metals such as sodium and potassium etc.

(iii) It couldn't explain Zeeman and Stark effect.

(iv) This model doesn't give any explanation for the intensities of the spectral lines.
