How does the synthetic theory of evolution incorporate knowledge from Genetics and Molecular Biology into the darwinism?
Today it is known as that variation of inherited characteristics is created by alterations in the genetic material of the individuals, more exactly by recombinations or modifications of DNA molecules. The Small changes in the genetic material accumulate and new phenotypical characteristics emerge.
The carriers of these qualities then are submitted to natural selection. From the modern Biology its recognized that natural selection generates in a given population an increase in the frequency of alleles and genes more favorable to reproduction and survival; less advantageous genes and alleles tend to be eliminated.
