function sortrows - sorting strings:
The function sortrows sorts each and every row as a block, or group, and it also will work on numbers. Here in this illustration the rows starting with 3 and 4 are placed first then, for the rows starting with 5, the values in the second column (6 and7) determine the order.
>> mat = [5 7 2; 4 6 7; 3 4 1; 5 6 2]
mat =
5 7 2
4 6 7
3 4 1
5 6 2
>> sortrows(mat)
ans =

Index vector: The index vector is then used as the indices for original vector. To get grades vector in ascending order, the indices used would be grades (2), grades (5), and
Illustration of tracing a error: The one way of following the flow of function, or tracing it, is to use the echo function. The echo function, that is a toggle, will show each
Logical errors: The Logical errors are more complicated to locate, as they do not result in any error message. The logical error is a mistake in reasoning by the programmer, b
Vectorizing: In most of the cases in MATLAB, loops are not essential. As MATLAB is written specifically to work with the vectors and matrices, most operations can be completed
Illustration of Input in a for loop: In this illustration, the loop variable iv iterates through the values 1 through 3, therefore the action is repeated three times. The acti
Example of Nested functions: For illustration, the function below computes and returns the volume of a cube. Three arguments are then passed to it, for the width and length of

Illustration of reading from files: For illustration, suppose that there is a data file 'subjexp.dat' that has on each line a number followed by thecharacter code. The type fu
Sorting Strings: For the matrix of strings, the sort function works exactly as formerly for numbers. For illustration, >> words = char('Hi', 'Hello', 'Howdy', 'Goodbye', '
