function sortrows - sorting strings:
The function sortrows sorts each and every row as a block, or group, and it also will work on numbers. Here in this illustration the rows starting with 3 and 4 are placed first then, for the rows starting with 5, the values in the second column (6 and7) determine the order.
>> mat = [5 7 2; 4 6 7; 3 4 1; 5 6 2]
mat =
5 7 2
4 6 7
3 4 1
5 6 2
>> sortrows(mat)
ans =
Use of function polyval: The better the curve fit, the more exact these interpolated and extrapolated values will be. By using the subplot function, we can loop to display the
Reading from Files: There are many lower level functions which read from files. The function fscanf reads the formatted data into a matrix, by using conversion formats like %s
Curve Fitting: The data is fundamentally either discrete or continuous. In most of the applications, data is sampled, for illustration, The temperature recorded every ho
Illustration of Nested loops: Running the script shows the output: >> printstars ***** ***** ***** The variable rows identifies the number of rows to print, and
Example of customizing plots: As the other illustration of customizing plots, the pieces of a pie chart can be "exploded" from the rest. In this situation, the two vectors are
fscanf function - file function: The fscanf reads matrix variable mat columnwise from the file specified by fid. The 'format' involves conversion characters much similar to th
Example of Vectorizing: Likewise, for an operation on a matrix, a nested loop would be needed; for illustration, supposing a matrix variable mat: [r c] = size(mat); for
Representing Logical true and False: It has been stated that expressions which are theoretically true really have the integer value of 1, and expressions which are theoretical
Median The median is defined only for a data set which has been sorted first, that means that the values are in order. The median of a sorted set of data values (n) is defined
Index vector: The index vector is then used as the indices for original vector. To get grades vector in ascending order, the indices used would be grades (2), grades (5), and
