Migration or Rearrangement to free radical species or Free radical rearrangement:

Those rearrangement reactions where the migrating group moves to a free radical centre. Free radical substitutions are fairly rare.

Aromatic rearrangement:

In these rearrangement reactions where the migrating group moves to aromatic nucleus. Aromatic compounds of the type (I) ho through rearrangements in the way mentioned below,
