Q. The resistance of a nichrome wire at 0oC is 10 Ω. If the temperature coefficient of resistance is 0.004/oC, find its resistance at boiling point of water. Comment on the result.

Resistance at boiling point of water   Rt = Ro (1+ αt)

      = 10 (1 + (0.004 × 100))

  Rt = 14 Ω .

Result: The resistance increases with the temperature.
