Explain the features and utilities available in java, which makes it suitable for developing e-commerce applications.

2.  Java supports applet.  An applet is an application designed to be transmit over the Internet.

3.  Java gives a high level security against risk of virus infection and malicious programs that can gather private information like as credit card number, bank balances etc.  The security is certain by 'Fire walls'.
