Eye - conjuctiva, Biology

CONJUNCTIVA -

Ectodermal in origin. Formed by epidermis. It is thin, transparent covers cornea.

Made up of stratified epithelium. It has 2 parts -

(i) Ocular conjunctiva that covers the front of eye.

(ii) Palpebral conjuctiva which lines the eye lids.

In pink eyes or sore the conjunctiva gets inflammed, causing conjunctivitis.
