Plasma proteins exert an osmotic pressure of 25 mm Hg, which helps in maintaining plasma volume. The osmotic pressure exerted by plasma proteins plays an essential part in the fluid balance. Having a small molecular size, albumin exerts the maximum colloid osmotic pressure.
