Explain what is Correction of Hypovolemia ?
Intravenous fluids should be given to correct hypovolemia and optimize preload to the heart. This is particularly important in septic shock - huge volumes - as much as 5 to 7 litres of fluid may be required in the first 24 hours. Correction of the volume status is crucial in augmenting organ blood flow.
