Explain Trifluridine  (Viroptic) 

Trifluridine is a nucleoside analog active against herpes viruses, including acyclovir-resistant strains. Marketed in an ophthalmic preparation, it is approved for treatment of HSV keratoconjunctivitis and recurrent epithelial keratitis. It is also active against vaccinia virus and has been used to treat accidental ocular infection following smallpox vaccination.
