Beyond the technical knowledge and practical skills dietitians needs to have communication and education skill (both oral and written), since they may be expected to plan, organize, implement and evaluate nutrition education for individuals, clients and groups.
In all of this the dietitian's involvement is not only in therapeutic nutrition i.e. rehabilitation but also health promotion and health maintenance. High-ranking competencies are needed to apply skills in communicating scientific information at a level appropriate to different audience.
