Explain the Unconfined Aquifer

Also termed "free aquifer". Groundwater flows by gravity from high head to low head. The upper water surface is termed "water table", is influenced by atmospheric pressure and can fluctuate based on the aquifer volume. The bottom of the aquifer is an impervious geologic stratum, often bedrock.
