Explain the Transport of Fructose - Carbohydrates

Fructose is converted to glucose after it is being transported. This occurs before entering the portal blood. The conversion occurs inside the cell. Fructose first becomes phosphorylated, then converted to glucose and finally released from the epithelial cell into the blood.
