Explain the Secretion of Aldosterone

A minimal amount of ACTH is also needed for the secretion of aldosterone.

The secretion of aldosterone is thus stimulated by:

  • a drop in the level of sodium ions in the blood
  • a rise in the level of potassium ions in the blood
  • angiotensin II, and
  • ACTH
