Conflict refers to any situation in which there are incompatible goals, thoughts or emotions within or between individuals or groups. For effective management of conflict, project managers must be able to analyse the sources of conflict and identify solutions to the conflict. You are required to:

(a) Explain the reasons for conflicts in project management.

(b) Elaborate on at least five generic techniques for resolving conflict AND give an indication of the extent to which each technique is able to resolve the conflict.
