Maintaining good relationship with the client is very important in counselling. This will help you to gain trust, confidence of the client and the family. They will discuss their problems with you. May be you have to visit the client many times to develop good rapport. It is not possible that they will develop trust in you just in one or two meetings. You have to provide them a comfortable place to sit, relaxed atmosphere, privacy, confidence and trust in you and with a welcoming gesture and eye to eye contact.
