Breaking into Subsystems
Decomposition is a significant technique for coping with complexity based on idea of divide and conquers. In dividing a problem into sub problems, the problem becomes less complex and easier to overlook and to deal with. Frequently dividing a problem will lead to sub problems which are small enough so that they can be conquered. After all sub problems have been conquered and solutions to that problem have been found, solutions need to be combine in order to obtain the solution of whole problem. The history of computing has seen two forms of decomposition: object-oriented and process-oriented decomposition.
Derived horizontal fragmentation: Some applications may include a join of two or more relations. If the relations are stored at dissimilar locations, there may be a major overhead
What is Relational calculus? Relational calculus is a Non- Procedural language.
Fragmentation: It is definite as partitioning of a relation into various fragments.Every fragment can be stored at a dissimilar site.
About Attribute inheritance
What is the use of rename operation? Rename operation is used to rename both relations and an attributes. It uses the as clause, taking the form: Old-name as new-name.
What is a primary key? Primary key is chosen by the database designer as the principal means of identifying an entity in the entity set.
Determine the benefits of Object oriented design OOD also gives reusability, which saves time, costs and productivity gains through direct mapping to properties of Object-Orie
Explain Superkey Ans: A superkey is described in the relational model of database organization like a set of attributes of a relation variable for which it holds that in all re
Atomicity : Either all functions are laid out or none are. Users could not have to think about the effect of incomplete operations. DBMS ensures this by undoing the functions
What is bucket overflow and how bucket overflow is handled through Over Flow Chaining or Closed Hashing? Ans: Bucket: unit of storage holding records. Bucket is a disk block
