Explain the primary function of blood?

The primary function of the blood to transport oxygen from the lungs to body tissues for interior respiration. The blood helps in maintaining body heat by excreting heat for cooling, and also carries components of the immune system for protection against infections. Blood types are characterized by different antigens, which stimulate immune response against foreign substances in the body.
