Explain the importance of parent material

Part of  these weathered minerals are transported  away by volcanoes, wind, water, ice, and waves etc. These very factors transport the weathered minerals from other weathered rocks and organic matter on the decayed rocks to create the so called parent material from which the soil is formed. In the second stage the soil forming or pedogenic processes develop the soil over a period of time.
