If the approach velocity is negligible, velocity head can be excluded and the equation becomes the Francis weir equation:

      Q = 2/3 C1b√2g H1.5= Q = 3.33L H1.5

C1 = Rehbock coefficient to account for all assumptions, usually given as 0.61 or 0.62. The equation to calculate the Rehbock coefficient is in references.
