Explain the empirical estimation models, Software Engineering

Assignment Help:

Write short notes on empirical estimation models.

Estimation model for computer software uses empirically derived formulas to expect effort as a function of line of codes (LOC) and function points (FP). The values of LOC and FP estimated are plugged into estimation model. The empirical data that support most guess models are derived from a limited sample of projects. So out comes obtained from models should be used judiciously. The model must be tested and compared with actual and assumed data
