Explain the Diet and Feeding Patterns of infants?

In this section, we will learn about diet and feeding patterns of infants and the pre- schoolers. The discussion has been sub-divided into 0-6 months, 6-12 months and pre- schoolers, keeping in mind their age-specific requirements for various nutrients.

It is well accepted that breast milk is best food for an infant. It is nature's provision to satisfy the needs of the infant for growth and development including emotional development. Even a poorest mother is able to nurse her child satisfactorily at least during the first few months. WHO recommends a normal mother to exclusively breast feed till 6 months of age?
