Explain the Carbohydrates and Fat Requirements during Sepsis?
Carbohydrates should constitute nearly 60% to 70% of the total energy. Glucose is the primary calorie substrate in a parenteral, nutrition formulation. Parenteral nutrition should be initiated with a low dextrose infusion rate. Fats may provide 15% to 40% of the total calories depending on the underlying complications.
