Explain the basic concept of sonar.
Basic concept of SONAR:
Sonar is based ontpo the echo-sounding technique of ultrasound. While an ultrasonic wave is transmitted by water, this is reflected through the objects into the water and will generate an echo signal. By considering the time interval among the generation of the ultrasonic pulse and the reception of the echo signal (t), the depth of the object can be simply computed. As the ultrasonic velocity “v’ into sea water is termed, the depth of sea is computed as given below:
Depth of sea (distance in between surface and bottom of the sea) = vt/2
Similar procedure is also used to determine the distance of submarine or iceberg through the surface of the sea and the distance in between two ships into the sea.
A pith ball weighing 3.0 x 10 -2 N carries a charge of -1.0 x 10 -6 C. The pith ball is placed among two large, parallel, metal plates that are divided by 0.050 m. What is
For the square voltage waveform displayed on an oscilloscope shown in Figure, find (a) its frequency, (b) its peak-to-peak voltage.
Consider the 4-f system below where an object is placed at the input plane and is illuminated by a plane wave The object to the right is placed in the input plane where b
1. The probability of dissociation of water into H + and OH - , to a good approximation, can be characterized by the Boltzmann distribution: W ≈ e -Eα/ KT If, at 27°C, 1.
What are benefits of fiber-optic sensors for harsh environments? Benefits of fiber-optic sensors for harsh environments are illustrates below: a. Small, contact measurements
Capacitance: If we increase the voltage between the plates, the charge increases, but the ratio of charge to voltage remains the same. This ratio gives the capacitance (C) of
