Explain the Adrenal Medulla

The adrenal medulla secretes epinephrine or adrenaline and norepinephrine or noradrenaline. The secretory cells of the medulla are modified postganglionic sympathetic neurons. Epinephrine and norepinephrine secreted from the adrenal medulla have similar stimulatory or inhibitory effects as the epinephrine and norepinephrine released from sympathetic nerves.
