Explain Synchronous Generators?
They can be utilized to produce or absorb reactive power. An over-excited machine produces reactive power when an under-excited machine absorbs it. The generator is the major source of supply to the system of both of the positive and negative VArs. The ability to supply VArs is ascertained by the short-circuit ratio (1/ synchronous reactance).
For economic reasons, in current units this ratio is kept low and therefore the inherent ability to run at leading power factors is not large. For instance, a 200 MW, 0.85 p.f. machine with a 10% stability margin can just supply 45 MVAr at full power outputs.

The goal of this project is to model a system and to design a controller for the system so that the closed-loop system performs satisfactorily.
Q. Show Maximum Power Transfer? In order to investigate the power transfer between a practical source and a load connected to it, let us consider Figure , in which a constant v

To have the same value of P e , show that E b /N 0 in a coherent-ASK system has to be twice that in a coherent PSK system.
Q. A current of 65 A is measured with an analog ammeter having a probable error of ± 0.5% of full scale of 100 A. Find the maximum probable percentage error in the measurement.
Usage: Because of the above inherent drawbacks, fixed bias is seldom used in linear circuits (that is those circuits which use the transistor like a current source). Instead,
