They relies on several variables representing various aspects of the software development environment for example methods used and user participation and customer oriented changes and memory constraints and so on. The model offers relationship between delivered line of source code (L in thousand lines) and effort (E in person-months) and is given by the following equation:

E= 5.2 L 0.91

In the similar fashion duration of development (D in months) is given by

D= 4.1 L 0.36
