Explain Squirrel- cage rotor
Squirrel- cage rotor having of a slotted laminated core of sheet-steel. The slots of the rotor are not always parallel to the slots on the stator, but they are given a twist called as skew. (Skew decreases noise, eliminates cogging and enhances the starting torque). The windings are placed in the slots. Every slot carries a thick copper or aluminum bar. These bars are short-circuited on either end by a solid copper or aluminum ring known as end-ring. Most of the 3-phase induction motors are of squirrel cage type, due to its rotor is simple and rugged in construction and is cheaper.
9.8-g lead bullet with a muzzle velocity of 3.90 x 10 2 m/s is stopped by a wooden block. What is the change in temperature of the bullet if one-fourth of its original kinetic
Start from the expression of the electric field outside an infinite sheet of uniform surface charge density, E = s/2epsilon, derive the electric field just outside an ideal conduct
Principle of Cell: To study electrical principles further we require a source of emf. Although an emf can be produced by any of the six methods discussed above, large amounts o
Self inductance: When current through a coil changes, the changing flux induces an emf that opposes the current flow. This emf is the result of self inductance and is called '
