Short term scheduling

The short term scheduler as well known as the dispatcher executes most frequently and makes the fine grained decision of which process to execute next. The short term scheduler is appeal to whenever an event occurs that may lead to the suspension of the current process or that may provide an opportunity to preempt a currently running process in favor of another. Illustration include IO interrupts, clock interrupts, operating system calls and signals
