ROCKET PROPULSION:

The motion of a rocket is an application of the law of conservation of momentum and Newton's 3rd law of motion. The gases ejected out from the combustion chamber of the rocket, move downward and gain a downward momentum and the rocket moves upward to balance the momentum of gases.
