Regulation of Glycolysis

There are three markedly exergonic reactions in  the glycolytic pathway, which  are considered physiologically irreversible. These reactions are catalyzed by the enzymes hexokinase  (glucokinase),  phosphofiuctokinase-I  and pyruvate  kinase  and  these reactions  are the major sites  of regulation of glycolysis.  The activities  of  all  these enzymes are increased by  glucose.
