Assignment Help:

Differentiate Reaction turbine and Impulse turbine (steam turbines)

(b) In a De Laval turbine, steam issue from the nozzle with a velocity of 850 m/s. The nozzle angle is 20oC mean blade velocity is 350m/s. the blade angles are symmetrical. The mass flow rate is 1000 Kg/min Friction factor is 0.8. Evaluate :

(i) Blade angle

(ii) Power developed in KW

(iii) Axial thrust on the end bearings

(iv) Blade efficiency
