Explain the Proximal Convoluted Tubule - Structures of a Nephron

Proximal Convoluted Tubule or proximal tubule (PCT): The proximal tubule is the most proximal part of the renal tubule which lies in the cortex. Once the glomerular filtrate passes through the opening in the Bowman's capsule, it goes through the PCT from where it passes through the Loop of Henle and the distal tubule (DCT).
