Explain National Nutritional Anaemia Prophylaxis Programme (NNAPP)?
In past, both access to and intake of iron-folate tablets have been poor in children and therefore had a little impact in terms of reduction of anaemia in childhood. Tenth Five Year Plan (2002-2007) envisages detecting and correcting anaemia in children and adolescents as a part of school health check up and having a mechanism to cover the same for out-of-school children, who are likely to have a higher prevalence of anaemia.
