Explain Multiples ?

When a whole number is multiplied by another whole number, the results you get are multiples of the whole numbers. For example,  To find the first four multiples of a number, we multiply the number by 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Sample Problem:  What are the first four multiples of 3?

Solution:  Multiples of 3: 3, 6, 9, 12.

(3 x 1 = 3, 3 x 2 = 6, 3 x 3 = 9, 3 x 4 = 12)

Notice that every multiple of the number three can be "divided evenly" by the number three. In other words, multiples of three are evenly divisible by three!
