Explain multihomed host, Computer Engineering

Assignment Help:

Write short notes on the Multihomed host.

A host computer that connects to multiple networks is termed as multi-homed host. Multihoming is occasionally used to raise reliability. The host can even reach the Internet by the second connection, if one network fails. On the other hand multihoming is used to raise performance. Connections to several networks can make this possible to send traffic directly and avoid routers that are sometimes congested. As a router, a multihomed host has multiple protocol addresses, for all networks connection.
