Explain Milling Fixture?

  • A milling fixture is a work holding device which is firmly clamped to the table of milling machine. It holds the work piece in correct position as the table movement carries it past the cutters.
  • The table is shifted and set in proper position, in relation to the cutter.
  • The work piece is located on the base of the fixture and clamped before starting the operation.
  • A milling fixture essentially consists of six components.

 

1) Base.

2) Tenon strip.

3) Setting block.

4) Tee-bolts.

5) Clamping devices.

6) Locating element.
