In fact, if microbiologists want to search for new kinds of microorganism, they usually turn to soil. The soil is the most important source of heat-resistant spore forming bacteria. Important microorganisms associated with soil include Bacillus, Clostridium, Enterobacter, Escherichia, Micrococcus, Alcaligenes, Flavobacterium, Chromobacterium, Pseudomonas, Proteus.
