Explain Macrophages

They are large, long living effective phagocytes, which enlarge out of monocytes. It is an irregular cell about 25-50 mm in size. It has a large ovoid nucleus indented on one side. It has more mitochondria and lysosomes than a neutrophil. It engulfs more than 100 bacteria before it dies.
